Shopaholics Anonymous

(A totally random picture of my husband...has nothing to do with my blog. :)
So, I went to see the movie, "Confessions of a Shopaholic", and BOY can I relate to that chick. :)  Not so much with the credit cards anymore since my husband made me BURN them when we first got married, but I sure know the feeling of soaring after buying a way fun pair of shoes and the cutest earrings that everyone will love. :)  Shallow? yep.  Thrilling? Definitely. :)   During the movie my husband decided to take a looooooooooooooong break in the restroom. (The movie is almost 2 hours).  I totally didn't even notice that he had left until almost 20 minutes later.  Then he came back and I was like,
"where did you go?"  He said he was checking voice mails, using the restroom, and things of that nature.  Obviously he was bored.   Crazy.   What was boring?  I so don't get men. :)   Anyway, I have read everyone of Sophie Kinsella's books (did I spell that right?) and they all made me laugh.  Of course they took quite a few liberties in changing things up.  So many things were different from the book,  but I liked the movie, non-the-less.  There was  a part in the movie, though, where she tried to explain to Luke how totally happy it made her to buy so many things and then after she got home and the high was over, it was like she needed to go shopping again to get that "happy" feeling.  Hmmm....I soooo can relate.  Anyone else?
I go shopping with my sisters and they sit on the bench and look at their watches  all afternoon wondering why I don't just walk in and get the one thing I need.  Excuse me?  one thing? Hello? We must browse! We must try on, we must smell and sample.  Am I weird or can any woman relate here?  The mall in my town is sub-par and that is giving it too many cudos.  So when I go out of town, saaaay Vegas, and hit the Fashion Show Mall and it's 1 million square foot of pure joy, I'm a kid in a candy store.   I leave the hotel around 10:00 and my husband says, "see ya tonight".  I come home, arms full of loot, happy as a lark, and to be totally honest...I forget 3/4 of things I have bought by the end of  day.  My favorite things to buy (I pay cash, by the way, if there are any folks shaking their heads at the debt I may be racking up) are shoes and accessories.  Why? Because you can be ANY size and still fit jewelry and shoes.  There's no signs saying..."plus size jewelry" or "Big and Tall shoes" Nope.   My shoes are always size 9, sometimes 9 1/2 and earrings and necklaces never seem to make my rear look any larger or smaller. :) Sweet.
So, there ya go.  This is probably my longest blog and sadly instead of discussing a topic like curing cancer or helping end world hunger, I'm discussion the ins and outs of shopping.  Ok so tomorrow I'll discuss my take on why you should not eat McDonald's hamburgers.  Or maybe I won't. :)

You just make me smile. Thank you for your time. There is only one of your mom and I'm pretty sure there's only one of you. I am glad you "friended" (yes, that became a verb at some point in my life) me back. Hang in there. I don't have the stick-with-it-ness to continue blogging. I'm glad you do. If any of the fun 91/2 are too big for you, your dad can fit them in the back of the truck on his next trip out, I'm sure. I'll take them off your hands. (or feet, I suppose)
